Auxiliary CPO recruitment campaign

Increasing levels of unemployment can leave some residents with the need to rebuild their confidence and retrain for the modern economy.

To help address this issue, Community Protection has been awarded funding from One Nottingham to create part-time Auxiliary CPO posts for those interested in a career in policing, security and enforcement fields. Successful applicants are able to take advantage of a complete training and support programme.

To drive applications for this role, Community Protection launched a recruitment campaign fronted by WBC Champion Carl Froch, using a mix of promotional activity including a media launch, bus, tram and radio advertising.

Campaign against Kerbcrawling

Nottinghamshire Police, Nottingham City Council and Taxi Licensing identified the problem of some taxi drivers being used by passengers to pick-up prostitutes.

A poster campaign has been launched to offer support to taxi drivers who are asked to look for a prostitute. The severe consequences for the driver were highlighted in the campaign and reinforced the seriousness of the offence the passenger would be committing.

The campaign highlighted the severe consequences for both the driver and passenger.

Community Protection's On-Street Prostitution taskforce are constantly developing innovative ways to tackle the issue of kerbcrawling.
