Have you got what it takes to be a champion?

Strengthen your career, strengthen your community. Volunteer to make Nottingham safer.

Being a champion takes dedication, courage and real strength of character. We are searching for people with these unique qualities to volunteer as Auxiliary Community Protection Officers.

This volunteer scheme is funded by One Nottingham in partnership with Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Police, and is open to anyone who wants to get back into work or is looking for a more rewarding career.

The training and support you will receive as an Auxiliary CPO, will help you develop key problem solving and communication skills, and offer you the experience of working in a successful team.

Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Police will train volunteers, and once in post you will tackle anti-social behaviour and environmental crime, including littering, nuisance neighbours and fly-tipping.

Applications are welcome from people aged 18 and above. From students looking to gain skills and experience which could pave the way to a career in the police, community protection or security industry, to retired residents who are looking to give something back to the community.

As an Auxiliary Community Protection Officer you will work up to 15 hours per week, unpaid. For this you will be given the opportunity to get training, experience, skills and a real sense of achievement that will make a difference to Nottingham and your career prospects.
